- THRIPS are small, narrow insects that swarm in high numbers and can scar berries.
- Black plague thrips are narrow, dark grey to black, and along with other thrips, are abundant in some years but rarely causes damage. May swarm in clouds when disturbed.
- EUROPEAN EARWIGS can be a pest but mostly are beneficial.
- European earwigs chew holes in leaves and may defoliate shoots in spring. They feed at night. During the day they shelter under bark or leaf litter.
