    Look for in leaves
  • IRON DEFICIENCY
  • Light green to pale yellow leaves with a fine network of green veins
  • A thin ribbon of green along the main veins as symptoms progress
  • Ivory areas which bleach white between the veins when severely affected
  • Brown to black dead blotches developing in the whitened blade
  • First symptoms on rapidly expanding young leaves
  • Re-greening of spots on leaves after treatment with iron

   CONDITIONS

  • Tissue analyses are often needed to correctly identify nutritional disorders
  • IRON DEFICIENCY
  • Deficiency is common on new growth, in poorly drained soils and/or soils high in free lime.
  • Often called iron chlorosis or lime-induced chlorosis.
