   CONDITIONS

  • Found on canes and wood
  • Tiny yellow crawler (young) scale are mobile but difficult to see. Young adults are small and also light in colour. Mature scale attach themselves to the vine and excrete honeydew thay may lead to sooty mould.
  • Parasitic wasps usually control grapevine scale. A paarasitised scale will have a small hole where the wasp has exited.
